When should I send my master Bill of Lading?The master B/L should be sent as early as possible. At the latest, it should be in Hoegh Autoliners possession 48 hours before a vessel sails. What insurance do I need?Carriers’ liability is limited by legislation and also by the terms and conditions of the transport document (Bill of Lading or Sea Way Bill). We recommend that you purchase a marine transport insurance policy before the commencement of the transport. For more information contact your freight forwarder or agent. What should I do if my cargo sustains any damage?

Höegh Autoliners Inc. The consignee must notify the carrier when loss and/or damage is discovered. Remarks on the Delivery Receipt constitute such notification. Concealed damages must be notified to the carrier within 3 days. In any event there is a global time limit of 1 year for presentation of claims. What is a Sea Waybill?A Sea Waybill is a transport contract (contract of carriage) - the same as a Bill of Lading. A Sea Waybill, however, is not needed for cargo delivery and is only issued as a cargo receipt. A Sea Waybill is not negotiable and cannot be assigned to a third party. I have lost my original Bills of Lading. Can I obtain a new set?A new set of originals may be obtained by furnishing a letter of indemnity stating that Hoegh Autoliners is not to be held responsible if the first set is found and surrendered. The letter of indemnity must be signed by the shipper (or his legal representative) and counter-signed by any reputable bank. Can I fix my non-running vehicles before it ships?No work by shipper or shipper’s representative shall be permitted on Höegh Autoliners accepted cargo. Marine Terminal Operator may set hourly labor rates, approved by Höegh Autoliners, and contract directly with shipper for repairs. |
