World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD)
WBCSD is a coalition of approximately 150 international companies within different business segments engaged in the promotion of closer cooperation between businesses, authorities and organisations. The objective is to promote business leadership as a catalyst for change towards sustainable development.
Westye Høegh, Chairman of Höegh’s board of directors, is a member of WBCSD council.

WWF Norway
Höegh has an agreement to collaborate with WWF Norway dating back to 2002. WWF is the world’s largest organisation engaged in preservation of natural resources, with more than five million members and activities in close to 100 countries. WWF is working globally for a cleaner and healthier marine environment.
WWF is represented in IMO and other international organisations working for improving the environmental regulations for the maritime industry. LHC is engaged in dialogues of critical, constructive and challenging nature with WWF. By being challenged LHC stays updated and in the forefront on developments on the environmental arena.

Red Cross
Höegh cooperates with Red Cross Norway through Ro/Ro transportation in connection with special Red Cross relief initiatives. Under this cooperation Höegh Autoliners transported 246 trucks and vehicles for Red Cross from Norway to the famine stricken regions in southern Africa in 2002. In 2005 Höegh Autoliners transported 44 trucks from Gothenburg to Sumatra in connection with relief after the South East Asia tsunami, and in January 2006 another 25 trucks were shipped from Gothenburg destined for Mombasa in Kenya and the famine stricken regions in Eastern Africa.
Red Cross is the world’s largest humanitarian organisation providing relief to victims of disasters and helping people preventing, preparing for and responding to emergencies.

SOS Children’s Villages
Höegh has entered into a partnership with SOS Children’s Villages and has committed to finance the building and running of three family houses and a social center in the LIPA Children’s Village in the Philippines. The objective is a broad engagement in the company’s organisation in SOS Children’s Villages projects. SOS Childrens Villages is an international child welfare organisation providing long term care for orphans and children in need.

Nobel Peace Center
Leif Høegh’s Foundation is one of the five Founding Partners of the Nobel Peace Center, which opened in June 2005. The Nobel Peace Center is established in the historical Vestbanen building in Oslo and is a living center for communicating the ideas of the Nobel Peace Prize and bear witness to humanity’s best efforts to achieve peace in all its forms. Leif Høegh’s Foundation was established in 1969 and supports charity activities in the spirit of the Company’s founder Leif Høegh. The Foundation is totally independent of the Company’s activities.
