Based on the experience from the Neptune project, Höegh LNG embarked on establishing its own Deepwater Port Projects offshore Tampa on Florida’s west coast (Port Dolphin) and offshore Morecambe Bay in the Irish Sea (Port Meridian). We are targeting these projects for customers that want to arbitrage on the gas price differences across the Atlantic. The competitive regas cost offered by these projects combined with the liquidity in the two markets, makes these projects also base for trading opportunities in other parts of the world, such as the Far East.
