We therefore participate in several projects aimed at this, and one is the MAK, a one year study with six annual meetings, organized in modules empasizing topics spanning from environment, law, arctic navigation and meteorology. The syllabus was designed by Det Norske Veritas, The Norwegian Coastguard, The Norwegian Polar Institute and several Norwegian shipping companies, amongst them Höegh LNG as the single largest. The study is based on a co-operation between the Maritime Forum of Northern Norway and the Norwegian Shipowners' Association, and will be held at the Tromsø University College close to 70*N. The study is aimed at operative, administrative and technical crew in the maritime and energy sector, in addition to the public sector.
